SPRING/SUMMER 2010

OK, so this seasons must have trends according to my observations are as follows peps:

- Block colours: (as mentioned in my previous blog- lime green for example) This season lets embrace refreshing bright colours, and lots of it!

- Draping: Architecturally twisted fabrics, the loose and draped look.

- White: Ditch the dark colours, brilliant white is the way forward. PS- if your worried about head to toe white, break it up with warm coffee tones and grey- another hit this summer!

- Prints: Animal, tribal and geometric, its all about contrasting prints. The bigger the clash the better!

- Heavy petal: Flowers galore, to really get into the essence of spring summer.

- On the fringe: This seasons most versatile embellishment fringing adds interest to everything. Be careful, and don't go OTT otherwise you may look like a cowboy!

Enjoy being in style this season!!

LIME GREEN...IS SIREEN

Everywhere I look this coming spring, there is no escaping that yes, lime green seems to be the 'in' accent colour. If you are of a dark or olive complexion you are probably not worried about pulling this colour off, as it would be a great compliment. However if you have a fair or pale complexion, this colour is bound to scream caution! Fear not here are a few KemiStyle ideas to work that citrus fruit this season.

Team it with colours that already compliment you, for example purples and fuchsias- these colours together will look like an exotic tropical rain forest- fab! If this colour palette frightens you some what, opt for monochrome tones such as black and white, with a splash of lime green. Be it with a bag, necklace, shoes or even in your make up!

Don't be scared of stepping into the LIME light this spring!! (See picture below)

WE ARE LIVING IN A MATERIAL WORLD AND I AM A MATERIAL GIRL!

Material Girl is a new Tv document aired on BBC 1 tonight, at 8.00pm.

Dream a dream, and it can become reality! This is a very inspirational drama about dreams, love, clothes and how we all use them to run away from who we are and towards who we should be!

Ali ,a talented fashion designer, feisty, and ambitious, she knows it's going to be tough in the world of fashion for a down-to-earth girl. Despite her training she considers herself a fashion outsider with no connections to the industry.

With the recent explosion in fashion-related entertainment, from Vogue documentary The September Issue to Oscar-winning Devil Wears Prada starring Meryl Streep, the message is clear: fashion is hot.

But can this British TV series match up to the American Ugly Betty?:

Well Material girl is Set in trendy London's Brick Lane, whereas Ugly Betty is in the vibrant city of Manhattan New York. The screening budgets will be very different, so material girl may have a tough time living up to it's glamorous U.S contemporaries as the styling could more likely to be Wag than Wang, (although the deep coral plunge dress was fabulous) And both main actresses are equally as pretty as each other (don’t be fooled by the braces, and glasses- “Ugly” Betty)

Well I am very much intrigued to see the fashion that will be featuring next week, as well as seeing more of Chris (Ali’s, current love interest) as he in my opinion is as hot as the fashion!

CEO OF ME Inc AND (KemiStyle)

Brand new year, invest in the brand called YOU!

This year I am pushing my brand visibility, as it is a brand new decade! After writing my dissertation on ‘Corporate brand image’, I believes personal and corporate brand values must be aligned for sustainable corporate success. Why? Because People buy people, not companies, products or services. Therefore it is essential people look good and inviting, so that consumers can buy into the brand of YOU!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been working on my online presence and my tangible business cards, which compliment and are consistent with my brand style.

KemiStyle colours are black and gold, with a modern yet stylist theme. Black is a colour that conveys mystery and formality, therefore in business and corporate meaning shows efficiency and power. Gold is a great accent colour for black and it portrays royalty and classiness. I use peacock feathers because I like the notion behind a peacock. ‘Being as proud as a peacock’, with who you are! And if you are not, use self development (and indeed an image consultant) to improve this be it through coaching confidence, or styling savoir.

Beyonce and Dita Von Tesse understand my logic……(see dresses below)

Today is the launch of my new website www.kemistyle.com, so please take a look, and next time I see you I will be sure to give you a business card!

LADIES- IS A MAN'S DRESS SENSE IMPORTANT TO YOU?

I recently got asked this question, by one of my guy friends...

So I brainstormed a few answers...Let's start of by reversing the question. If women looked like slobs and didn't take care of their appearance would you be interested...? I believe a person's outer appearance represents their personality, and this reflects whether they take pride in themselves, professionally and personally.

But then it can be said that clothing can be changed, and character traits can't or take years to do so. However how you chose to present yourself, is a way of giving a sample of whats to come inside. In my eyes it shows high self esteem, and self confidence. Take Simon Cowell for example, he is no peacock, but he understands that he has to project a certain image, he therefore breathes confidence!

It can be said that MEN must wear confidence; all else is secondary!

Remember first impressions are formed in the 7secs, and to neglect your image is negligent. So YES, is my final answer to the question, as the old saying goes,
'CLOTHES MAKETH THE MAN'.

Ps- If Frank Sinatra polished the soles of his shoes, as well as the upper- Men of the 21st Century can also make that extra effort!
