Material Girl is a new Tv document aired on BBC 1 tonight, at 8.00pm.
Dream a dream, and it can become reality! This is a very inspirational drama about dreams, love, clothes and how we all use them to run away from who we are and towards who we should be!
Ali ,a talented fashion designer, feisty, and ambitious, she knows it's going to be tough in the world of fashion for a down-to-earth girl. Despite her training she considers herself a fashion outsider with no connections to the industry.
With the recent explosion in fashion-related entertainment, from Vogue documentary The September Issue to Oscar-winning Devil Wears Prada starring Meryl Streep, the message is clear: fashion is hot.
But can this British TV series match up to the American Ugly Betty?:
Well Material girl is Set in trendy London's Brick Lane, whereas Ugly Betty is in the vibrant city of Manhattan New York. The screening budgets will be very different, so material girl may have a tough time living up to it's glamorous U.S contemporaries as the styling could more likely to be Wag than Wang, (although the deep coral plunge dress was fabulous) And both main actresses are equally as pretty as each other (don’t be fooled by the braces, and glasses- “Ugly” Betty)
Well I am very much intrigued to see the fashion that will be featuring next week, as well as seeing more of Chris (Ali’s, current love interest) as he in my opinion is as hot as the fashion!
