I recently got asked this question, by one of my guy friends...
So I brainstormed a few answers...Let's start of by reversing the question. If women looked like slobs and didn't take care of their appearance would you be interested...? I believe a person's outer appearance represents their personality, and this reflects whether they take pride in themselves, professionally and personally.
But then it can be said that clothing can be changed, and character traits can't or take years to do so. However how you chose to present yourself, is a way of giving a sample of whats to come inside. In my eyes it shows high self esteem, and self confidence. Take Simon Cowell for example, he is no peacock, but he understands that he has to project a certain image, he therefore breathes confidence!
It can be said that MEN must wear confidence; all else is secondary!
Remember first impressions are formed in the 7secs, and to neglect your image is negligent. So YES, is my final answer to the question, as the old saying goes,
'CLOTHES MAKETH THE MAN'.
Ps- If Frank Sinatra polished the soles of his shoes, as well as the upper- Men of the 21st Century can also make that extra effort!
